Our Testing Methodology
SugarChairman reviews are built on real testing — not platform-provided data, not affiliate relationships, not AI-generated summaries. Here's exactly how every review is conducted.
Platform Setup
We create real, complete profiles on each platform — genuine photos, honest income ranges, and thoughtfully written bios. No fake information, no template profiles. The goal is to experience exactly what a real user would experience.
30-Day Active Testing
Every platform gets a minimum 30-day testing period. We send messages, respond to inquiries, and — where appropriate — arrange real first meetings. We document response rates, conversation quality, and the frequency of inactive or suspicious profiles.
Screenshot Documentation
We capture screenshots throughout the testing period: search result pages, profile quality samples, message conversations (with identifying information removed), and interface screenshots across mobile and desktop. Every review includes a minimum of 12 documented screenshots.
Scoring Across 5 Dimensions
Each platform is scored on: Member Quality, Messaging Ease, Value for Money, Allowance Flexibility, and Privacy & Security. Scores are based exclusively on direct testing observations — never on platform-provided statistics.
Fake Profile Detection
We actively attempt to identify fake profiles using reverse image search, social media cross-referencing, and conversation analysis. The percentage of suspected fake profiles encountered is factored into the Member Quality score.
Ongoing Updates
Sugar dating platforms change frequently. We revisit each reviewed platform quarterly and update reviews when significant changes occur. The date of last update is displayed prominently on every review page.
Conflict of Interest Policy
SugarChairman earns revenue through affiliate commissions when readers click our links and sign up for platform memberships. This creates an obvious potential conflict — we have a financial incentive to recommend platforms.
Our policy to manage this conflict: our scoring and rankings are determined by our testing results before any affiliate agreement is considered. Platforms that perform poorly in testing receive poor scores, regardless of commission rates. We have declined higher-commission affiliate relationships with platforms that underperformed in testing.
We disclose all affiliate relationships prominently on every review page and in our site footer. If a platform we review does not have an affiliate program, we will still review it honestly if it has meaningful market presence.
